Cool McAfee security software

Is McAfee security software only for the first twelve months on O2 or will it be renewable free while with O2? (I still haven't used the first one as I've already got a subscription till January). I seem to remember reading somewhere that it was a continual subscription.

Re: McAfee security software

Yup McAfee has a rolling subscription where they keep on taking the money where they can.

If you don't to pay again you must cancel with them.

Hi Kidd,

Yes the Mcafee subscription is free for as long as you remain an O2 Customer. Please note that to get this offer, you MUST install Mcafee through the set up CD that came with your broadband box.

Hope this helps,

Regards,
Sam

Just realised the O2 Mcafee software (latest version) can be downloaded here
http://home.mcafee.com/root/MyAccount.aspx
thus avoiding the need to engage with the CD! Hope this is helpful to folks.

Re: McAfee security software

Hi Kidd,

Sam.riodley90 is absolutely correct.
Quote:
You MUST install McAfee through the set up CD that came with your broadband box if you haven’t registered in past.
In future if you ever need to re-install the software, you can do download directly from the official McAfee website anytime like Allen mentioned.

Hope this info helps!

Abhishek

Re: McAfee security software

Hi Only been with o2 about a month, so far pleased apart from McAfee.

Used o2 cd to put mcafee on computer, about a week ago was asking me to renew it due to it being out of date soon and asking for money, this morning now stopped working and unable to update it. At the top of McAfee screen it does have 'Together with o2'.

So whats up are o2 now only giving a tryal version for a month

Re: McAfee security software

Hi Spiv,

Just want to clarify that McAfee is free with O2 broadband and a full version is offered not a trial one. The number of product licences depends with the package you are on. So, Standard package – 1, Premium package – 3 and Pro package – 5.

In regards to the renewal message you’re getting on your McAfee, I’d suggest reinstalling the software from the CD again. After uninstalling the software, please also run the ‘McAfee Removal Tool’ to make sure all previous files are deleted from your machine and then install from the CD again.

If you’ve any hiccups during the installation from the CD or if the issue still persists, please do let me know.

Abhishek
