Re: The official say hello thread

ive been with o2 for 6months now and can not praise them enough (tho there will be some who have had bad experiences) rang o2 and got thru to English call center within 2 rings customer services imo are great very helpful ive used there live chat system and was connected within 5 minutes tho i did try one night/early morn and couldnt get anyone , on the connection side im sure o2 try to give you every ounce of speed your line can take. DSL Type: G.992.5 annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,183 / 6,895
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0.00 / 0.00
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.0 / 19.0
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 27.0 / 49.0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 6.0 / 6.0
when i joined o2 i thought it was going to be like the rest and give me a couple of meg at max but was i wrong , ive never tried sky so i cant give you a comparison but ive never had it so good, lol in fact o2 made a mistake by not billing me for 3months even tho id phone and email them, customer service said dont worry its only 7.50 a month (still adds up i thought) i then get an email from o2 saying our mistake you dont have to pay for the 3 months woohoo but i still received my discount from topping up my mobile so 3 month of discounts add up and my next bill was paid and i recieved another discount to cut a long story short with all my dicounts and o2 not charging me for 3months im now 30 pounds in credit and not paid a penny apart from topping mobile up which id do anyway lifes good and my homes a happy home ,oh and there really is no limit to how much you d/load really theres non .

Hi there! I'm so happy to have discovered O2user!

This is exactly what I was after - A friendly O2 forum!

I used to use Sky BB (and be a skyuser) but I'm having problems some minor problems now since I got O2.

Can anyone help me?

Re: The official say hello thread

Hello everyone. I saw a recommendation for this web site on the other o2 forum. Delighted to have found such a user friendly site (nothing against the other mind).

Been with o2 about 2 months now and am over the moon with my speeds (used to be 1.8 now 2.8). Had some slight "getting to know the wireless box" issues, but now all settled down.

Looking forward to an expanding membership of this forum. Looks like lots of people coming over from Sky. I used to be with Zen and although they gave an excellent service they were a bit pricy.

Enjoy my £7.50 a month with o2.

Snow is now melting.

Re: The official say hello thread

Hi, thanks for the kind comments and welcome to the forum

Yes, we've only been going a couple of weeks but word is getting out. If there's anything you'd like to see added to the forum, please let us know. Maybe we can help you squeeze a little more speed out of your connection (or do you think you've maxed it?) or tame that O2 box

Re: The official say hello thread

Hello, dont think I'll achieve any faster speeds. My sync speed is about 3309 with actual 2750. I am on the outer limits from my exchange so am more than happy.

With regard the little box - after a few days of pull your hair out and resets, I finally managed to overcome lack of knowledge on changing the security to WPA from WEP. My SSID still broadcasts as o2 etc and I would prefer to make it a little more anonymous. However, I have changed the log into account details to prevent others logging in to my router so perhaps it can stay as is.

I do get problems if I try to change the setting "Permit any new stations automatically" so gave up on that one too.

All now works without a glitch. Received good advice from o2 Technical but feel that this could have been made more available when I installed the little box.

But hey - I am a happy bunny.
