Re: The official say hello thread

Hello all - another convert from sky (and skyuser) here.

I was tempted by the O2 Premium Package (3 months free + £70 cashback from quidco + already o2 phone customer) so I'm well pleased with the price for the next 12 months

The convert from sky to O2 with mac codes worked like a dream - no problems from either end and very fast.

Speed (it's early days yet and I haven't done a full test) appears to be much faster on O2.

O2 Supplied router - OMG !!
I have a complicated home network setup and I can't see one of the video servers (a very, very old axis video server) on the network yet. When I have finished my setup I might post a few guides about it (eg. CLI commands to assign fixed IP address by mac code etc:- )
I think in the end I will end up using my old NETGEAR router or even reflashing the old SKY one for ease.
(LOL ... it comes to something when re-flashing a router and using it's setup menus is easier than using a "plug and play" router )

Re: The official say hello thread

/Waves hello

Another Skyuser who is jumping over to O2.
After becoming disillusioned with Sky's CST ability to fix a re-occurring problem for the last 6 months, there inability to read emails and there inability to give factual information it was time to move.
I noticed some good comments about O2 broadband CST on Skyuser and checking with a friend who is an engineer at Openreach who agreed with the comments, I to move onto Premium tomorrow....................... Hopefully

Hi, I'm an exile from Bulldog. Fed up of the crappy customer service was recommended 02 by a work buddy and have to say, so far it's all excellent.
Then again, after Bulldog / pipex the bar was not set high!

Re: The official say hello thread

hi just thought id introduce myself.
im still with sky but ive got everything set up with o2,just need to sort my mac code out,not something im looking forward to with the messing it takes to get through to sky....lol
i thought id have to wait till my contract was up in jan 2010 but with the changes sky are making to there packages i get a chance to jump ship early without charges(i hope).
seems to be alot of familiar names from skyuser and if this site is anything like that,it'll do for me 100%.

Re: The official say hello thread

Hi - welcome

Easy to confuse letters and numbers though with Sky, errors seem more common than they should be. Down to agent training I guess and the tools they give them.

Not that you need it now but for anyone's future reference, here's a MAC validity checker:

ADSL24 - MAC Validity Checker

Re: The official say hello thread

Thanks Saturday, I did find the checker yesterday on skyuser and used to confirm the amended one.
