Re: Windows 7 Beta available for download

Considering that now Graphics cards are coming in 1gig+ for their memory and that with SLI etc, quite a few people will need to go to 64bit OS just so they can have enough ability to address the memory and Grahpics RAM.

I am running 8gig of memory with a 1gig graphics card and I am considering going SLI with another one, the days of 32 bit for me are over.

Re: Windows 7 Beta available for download

I keep thinking about upgrading my system as it's a few years old now, but I sank all of what I'd saved up to build a VMware server - got a good deal on it too: a HP ML110G5 with a dual core Xenon 2.8GHz, SAS RAID, 250GB RAID 1 system for £185 including VAT and delivery.

Added on another 80 quid to up the RAM to 8GB and it absolutely flies. It's currently running VMWare ESX 3 with 7 virtual machines, one of which is Windows Server 2008 Enterprise and Exchange 2007 Enterprise and they all fly.

Performance-wise I reckon they would make an absolutely superb desktop (it's a small tower format) and it runs practically silent.
