Temporary Congestion in Leeds, Manchester, Derby and Nottingham Areas
Taken from official O2 service status.
'We are making some improvements to the network in the Leeds, Manchester, Derby and Nottingham areas which may cause slower than usual browsing speeds with your broadband service. This work will take place between 10:00pm 09/12/2009 and 01:00am 10/12/2009' |

Will this also be causing slowness in the WA10 area of St Helens?

Re: Temporary Congestion in Leeds, Manchester, Derby and Nottingham Areas
I understood this work was to be started after 10pm the internet has been goosed all night, from just before we got that email as printed above, that came through at 6.21pm this evening, so I am not convinced it's the scheduled maintenance.
As long as the other ISPs change their peering it should get better. Sky customers and o2 have been struggling all night.

Re: Temporary Congestion in Leeds, Manchester, Derby and Nottingham Areas
Well, don't know whether it is related but I had a random router reset last night at around 10pm, my router dropped a meg off the sync (8812) and my throughput was only approx 1meg until around midnight. The best i've done is 3 meg in the last 24 hours.
The O2 tech support is down as well, they say its 'scheduled maintence' but when I rang up yesterday they said it would be fixed by this morning at 10am, but as of writing, its still not resolved. slightly annoying..... |
