Unhappy COD4 PS3 downloading settings

Hi i have just joined O2 from Sky and i am really happy with the service, general surfing is fast i have 14mb down 1.2mb up but the problems start when i play COD4 on the PS3, i just keep getting downloading settings and the available games screen is blank.......

i have logged in as a superuser but there is no DMZ section to put your ip address in like there is on the Sky Netgear router, i added COD4 to the game list as it was not on it, upnp is enabled and i have read that u can assign game ports to an ip address and i have done that as well but i am still not getting into a game...

i have found how to get it to work is a reboot before i play, this is not the real solution its just a work around.

shall i flash by sky router with another firmware and use that or how do i get this to work ?

Re: COD4 PS3 downloading settings

Could be a problem with setting up port forwarding or could be a firewall issue.

Yes you could flash your old Sky router but I wouldn't recommend setting a router to DMZ - that removes just about all the security the router offers. To quote Netgear themselves:

Quote:
A computer with DMZ loses firewall protection, and is exposed to exploits from the Internet. If compromised, your own computer can attack the rest your network. Instead of DMZ, use port forwarding
This applies to all routers not just Netgears.
