I bought the o2 package on wednesday and requested for MAC code. Sky said ok they will send me one over the post. Today i phoned up for details and they told me they cant give me MAC Code (ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH)

They said i had mac code given to me in sept 2007 so cannot issue me another one!!! is that true?? they said i have to wait till it gets cancelled, wait 10 days for my line to clear up then i can get another broadband...

Re: sky WONT give me mac code!!!

Took me 6 calls and eventually had to get a girl called Jenny in Cancellations to email head of broadband Gay Campbell to issue a manual mac code. Jenny was very helpful unlike the other 5 people i spoke to.

They had cancelled mine as well. No wonder we are all trying to get away from them.

Then i got it the next day!

Hope this helps

No it's not - complete rubbish

The regulator takes this sort of thing fairly seriously and will respond to a complaint. Sky have to follow the regulations which say a MAC code must be issued on demand (each one lasts 30 days) and a customer must not be cancelled unless they request it.

Call again and there's a good chance you'll get an agent who's been properly trained. If you still can't get hold of your MAC call Sky Customer Relations, explain what has happened and say you are raising a complaint with the regulator. Also ask for compensation for the trouble they've caused and your costs in calls.
