O2 box event logs

I keep getting event log entries like
LOGIN User badcred tried to login on [HTTP] (from xxx.xxx.x.xx)
where the ip address is one assigned to a pc on my LAN.

Please can someone tell me what it means, whether I should be worried, and how to stop it happening? Ta much.

I'd guess that message is telling you that someone (or something) tried to log into the router from that PC but failed due to incorrect credentials (username/password).

Sorry, but I don't use that router so can't reproduce the message to diagnose if that's what it is.

Yes I guessed that much but I don't understand what is causing it unless it is some sort of firewall or other setup issue, but as I've not amended anything relevant it's all very strange. I normally use a DG834GT and am only using the O2 box to see how it behaves.

Hard to say what it might be - probably benign (e.g. if you're running some sort of internet "protection" suite like Windows Onecare et al) but I suppose it could be malware. Best run some checks just in case.
