O2 box event logs
I keep getting event log entries like
LOGIN User badcred tried to login on [HTTP] (from xxx.xxx.x.xx) where the ip address is one assigned to a pc on my LAN. Please can someone tell me what it means, whether I should be worried, and how to stop it happening? Ta much. |

Re: O2 box event logs
I'd guess that message is telling you that someone (or something) tried to log into the router from that PC but failed due to incorrect credentials (username/password).
Sorry, but I don't use that router so can't reproduce the message to diagnose if that's what it is. |

Re: O2 box event logs
Yes I guessed that much but I don't understand what is causing it unless it is some sort of firewall or other setup issue, but as I've not amended anything relevant it's all very strange. I normally use a DG834GT and am only using the O2 box to see how it behaves.

Re: O2 box event logs
Hard to say what it might be - probably benign (e.g. if you're running some sort of internet "protection" suite like Windows Onecare et al) but I suppose it could be malware. Best run some checks just in case.
