upload gone down

i cant quite work this out,i had my snm profile put down to 3.5 to see what would happen and its raised my up and down a bit.the line is still ok but when i do a speed test my actual upload has gone down by alot, even though im syncing alot higher???
Uptime: 0 days, 0:26:54
DSL Type: G.992.5 annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,243 / 7,461
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0.00 / 0.00
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.0 / 18.5
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 25.5 / 47.5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 3.5 / 4.0
Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / BDCM
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 11 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 1 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote): 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 1 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 45 / 72,985
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 45 / 650
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 72 / 588

before i was syncing at up 1,144 and getting between 900 and 1001 on tests.now im syncing higher, tests are coming back at 400 to 900.
does that make sense???

just done another and it came back at this...down 6.42, up 1.03
is it just the speed tests that are out?is there a way of getting a more accurate answer?

Re: upload gone down

A 3db profile on a line with your attenuation

It's simple - either the speedtest servers are unreliable (most are) or your low noise margin isn't giving the router enough margin to distinguish between noise and signal, so although your sync is higher, the throughput is lower due to the need for large amounts of corrupt data having to be retransmitted.

My guess is a bit of both but definitely the latter.
