interleave and fastpath
i had pings around 26-27 back when i joined now im averagin 36-40. this one seem to be hit and miss when i googled it. from what i can gather if your line is stable enough you could sacrifice some speed for an improved ping. i called 02 three times today and i was stopped instantly with "we dont support it" how are people achieving getting this altered then?
these are current stats since i had my line issue corrected and i swapped routers Status: ShowtimeRetrain Reason: 8000 Channel: FAST, Upstream rate = 1165 Kbps, Downstream rate = 14585 Kbps Link Power State: L0 Mode: ADSL2+ Channel: Fast Trellis: U:ON /D:ON Line Status: No Defect Training Status: Showtime Down Up SNR (dB): 1.4 6.2 Attn(dB): 33.0 18.7 Pwr(dBm): 18.7 12.4 Max(Kbps): 17976 1161 Rate (Kbps): 14585 1165 btw the last agent said look at our forums and search packet editing? ![]()

Re: interleave and fastpath
Odd - I thought O2 had decided to put interleaving on as standard now (as you've been told) but there have been recent posts on the forum where members have been able to get this changed.
Couple of things:
Ping times are affected by several things. The most critical are how you're connected (wireless is hopeless and will increase pings enormously) and how you are measuring (don't believe speedtesters). Please confirm that you are using a wired connection and you are measuring using the Windows ping command to a fast site such as bbc.co.uk. |

Re: interleave and fastpath
Yep im wired and always ping in a CMD window
i always test bbc.co.uk and Jolt.co.uk btw im now using the same router as you but with DGTeam lastest firmware, thats how my SNR is at 1.4 :P its solid as arock now for days. Can i get the info from the 02 box to confirm my current setting or is there something in my new router that will confirm? EDIT Just ran DMT and it reports and interleaving depth of 128 , does this mean it at its best or worst?

Re: interleave and fastpath
Having seen your other post, what you've said here and now looking at your stats more closely, I'd bet £10 that your increased ping is down to having such a ridiculously low margin - LEAVE IT ALONE

Re: interleave and fastpath
no pings are the only 1ms differnet between my crazy SNR and 3/6db profiles
