Testing should finish in a couple of days providing no problems are found. I'm surprised they've started you on a 3db profile - maybe that's what they do nowadays to see if your line can handle it from the start. If it can't then they'll move you up in 3db increments. If they need to do this then the downside will be a small drop in sync speed but the upside is that your connection will be more stable.

It's completely normal for the noise margin to vary by 1-3db through the day (morning vs evening).

Wait and see what the line settles down to. As I said before, I'm a bit surprised they've started you off on a 3db profile. If I were you I'd be tempted to reboot the router now i.e. in the evening. This will resync it at 3db and therefore give you more leeway as it will then rise a bit in the morning.

PS. Relax and let the connection find its own level over the next couple of days and don't fret about your stats - you have every promise of an excellent connection. In the meantime, have a look through the tutorials on this site which may answer a number of questions in your mind e.g. noise margin, stats etc.
