flashed sagem

as ive put in other posts im learning,so ive flashed my old sky sagem router.after a few hiccups ive done it
when i log onto it i get upstream and downstream stats but no internet. i went into advanced settings to put in settings for o2 and after putting in the vpi and vci,i click on next page and it starts asking for wan ip address and wan subnet mask???theres also a check box to use default gateway and i need to put in an ip address???
so now im stuck there......:
im waiting on my netgear coming so i thought id have a play around,see what i can learn,so can anyone give me any pointers on how to get the sagem working on o2.ive got the settings from the tutorial but it seems to want more.....??

Select "get IP address from ISP", or whatever the Sagem equivalent is. If you're being asked for an IP/subnet then I'd guess you've selected IPoA, which you don't need to do.

put it all back to default and after putting in the vci i get to a page with 6 check boxes
PPPoA
PPPoE
PPPoE/PPPoA
MER
IPOA
Bridging
tried them all and the only one that gives me the option to get ip address from isp is the MER one..??is this the right one?i then get a page with enable multicast and WAN(wan is already checked)after doing all this the router status says waiting on isp but nothing happens...any ideas?
after messing around i tried to put my thompson back on and it said contacting DHCP or something like that but i got it working in the end..
