Dg834gt

well i finally found a pc that would let me use the upgrade utility, ive now got the netgear with the latest firmware(v1.02.19).to say i couldnt turn a pc on 12 mnths ago im pretty chuffed with myself, mostly thanks to people like SATURDAY and ISITME whose technical info gave me the confidence to try things....
ive got the dmt tool and on the tab that alters SNR theres 4 things....
LPAIR inner.....outer
trellis...on....off
bitswap....on....off
SRA....on.....off
if i was going to alter my snr,do i leave these or do certain ones need ticking??
ive looked into it and and i found info that SRA and bitswap should be ticked on but i could do with advice from someone ??
also on the tool main page it says line quality...downstream RCO 84%,upstream RCO 100%...is this something to do with how much of my sync im utilising????
it also says interleaving depth 64,can this be lowered or is it right at that???
sorry for all the q's but i want it all right

Re: Dg834gt

Lpair is unlikely to have an effect, trellis should be on, bitswap on and sra on (though that too will have no effect unless O2 turn it on their end).

RCO is the router's estimate of the maximum sync possible.

Interleaving depth can be changed by O2.

Cool Re: Dg834gt

I downloaded the image file 'dg834gt_1_02_09.img' from the Netgear site and tried to upgrade through the router, Got the message..

Upgrade file is not the correct type or version for this device.

Upgrade failed.

Please obtain the correct file and try again.

Also tried it through the recovery utility, But it just locks!

Any ideas?

Thanks

Cool Re: Dg834gt

Hi Andy, Thanks for the reply. The DG834GT has Sky firmware on, That link you posted appears dead I've been reading other posts and this process seems a bit hit and miss depending on your computer!! I'll try it on friends computers and see if I get lucky!
Will post back results.

Thanks again Andy.
