Problems Applying for O2 Online
I'm having serious difficulties applying online for O2 broadband, something I need to do online in order to get the cashback deal.
I get as far as the payment page and correctly enter my direct debit details (as appears on my chequebook) and credit card details (I've tried 2 different cards) but I keep getting an error saying that either my billing address details are incorrect or the credit card details are wrong both of which is utter rubbish. Is there some trick I'm missing here. On thing I've noticed is that there isn't enough address fields to enter my full address which would be house no, street name, address 2, city, county. They seem to missing the address 2 line which could be causing the issue? I'm totally frustrated, I didn't think applying for broadband could be so difficult. ![]() |

Re: Problems Applying for O2 Online
I take it you've tried using the details off your bank or credit card statement rather than your chequebook?
Give the O2 Broadband Customer Liaison Team a ring on 0800 230 0202 and ask for advice. As long as you don't sign up to anything on the phone or let them process an order you should still get your cashback. I think you'll be totally amazed at the level of customer service they provide when compared to Sky! ![]() |

Re: Problems Applying for O2 Online
I've already spoke to them and they just want me to go via there sales team, so not much help. If I don't get the cashback I may as well stick with Sky.

Re: Problems Applying for O2 Online
Got it sorted now. It looks like it was an issue with Windows Vista. Tried it on an XP machine and it works fine.

Re: Problems Applying for O2 Online
That's odd - sounds like it could be different versions of IE?

Re: Problems Applying for O2 Online
It was the same version of IE, although it was a bit odd nonetheless.
Regardless, as of today I'm now a fully fledged O2 broadband customer. ![]() |

Re: Problems Applying for O2 Online
So far yes. It's synched just over 1Mbps more than my Sky connection, albeit with a lower SNR, O2 must have a lower default. Just have to see what DLM does now. How long does O2's version of DLM last?
BTW do you know how to get the correct time on the O2 wireless box II. I've changed the time server to time.nist.gov but it's still an hour behind. Is there a way to auto adjust for BST? |

Re: Problems Applying for O2 Online
The DLM on O2 is just a set of extensive line checks which can last a couple of days of a couple of weeks. (they should text you when it is done)
Although O2 run on a 6db profile I have found them to be a huge improvement in stability over Sky (which is one of the reasons I left Sky) and for what ever reason I find o2 just a huge imporvemnt stability wise over Sky. I don't use the wireless box so I can't tell you about the time. |
