O2 wireless box II port forward hell
Well I was activated today, and have spent all evening (read from 6pm till now) trying to correctly port forward HTTP and HTTPS (80 and 443) to my SBS 2003 box, no joy
![]() I've ready the guids, googled, am confortable with telnet etc... but it just doesn't work. Plugged in my re-virgined Sky router (Netgear DG834G) and everything is working in 5 mins flat... Argh! I hate TG585v7 |

If your app isn't in the list you create a new one, & then set up a new rule, select the attached device you want to forward to & apply. Easy. |

Re: O2 wireless box II port forward hell
I'm glad you found it easy.
The apps I wanted (HTTP and HTTPS) are in the list, I mapped them to the internal box I wanted to be the server. When I tried to browse to www.mydomain.com all I got was the routers config pages loading instead of the web server on my lan. I gave up |

I think you need try it on a PC away from your home network...

Or if testing on your network, type the ip address of the web server, not the domain. I think.

Re: O2 wireless box II port forward hell
For my particular application i need it to work away from and in my home network!
I need to use the domain name, internally and externally, I don't want to have to reconfigure the client application (i.e. to switch between 192.168.1.x and www.mydomain.com) each time i move my laptop out of my house and onto a different network. I still see this as a limitation of the TG585v7 box, I'm not going to worry about it, because I have exactly what I want working with my Netgear DG834N. I just don't like being beaten by technology... |
