Help configuring an Access Point with O2 Wireless Box II

I recently purchased a Buffalo Wireless NFiniti Access Point/Router to improve my network connection upstairs & connect my xbox 360 to.

I cannot for the life of me figure out or find anything on configuring the Access Point or O2 Box II to accommodate this. Tried following the basic instructions on the Buffalo disk i.e put the router into Access Point mode, connect it & my laptop to the router wired but when I try to connect to the IP address of the AP it fails.
