O2 network problems?

Anyone else having problems this morning on LLU?

Last night I was able to happily max out my 14meg connection. This morning I can barely get 0.5meg throughput. All the usual router checks and the connection appears fine and there's nothing else using it - it's just a throughput issue.

Tried to call O2 and the IVR is reporting long queues and the call hasn't been answered after 20 minutes. I've never waited more than a few seconds before so I guess I'm not the only one with a problem.

I'll leave it for now but just wondered how widespread the problem might be.

yeah, my internet dropped about 45 mins ago and has dropped down to a third of its normal speed, at one point it was down to 900kb/s!!
been on hold waiting to speak to someone at o2 tech support for over half an hour now, not too impressed with the service levels here!!

All the signs are that there's been a major fibre cut somewhere (at around 10:30 this morning) leading to reduced capacity and high pings.

Affected exchanges identified so far are:

Arrowebrook, Basingstoke, Bingley, Canterbury, Copthorne, Cranleigh, Dorking, Eastwood, Epsom, Exeter, Farnborough, Formby, Godalming, Guildford, Haywards Heath, Langley / Slough, Lofthouse Gate, Maidstone, Mitcham, Newbury, Newtown Llantwit, newtownards, Orpington, Plympton, Redcar, Redhill, Royston, Skelmersdale, Surbiton, Wisbech, Wokingham, York

. . . . though there are likely to be more.

We'll have to wait for an official explanation.

The Be status page reports: "We are currently investigating a pissble (sic) routing issue causing slow throughput and high latency." Like the typo!

Nothing on the O2 status page yet.

Yep Gravesend, my connection has dropped from just under 17Mbit to under 1Mbit

Back close to normal for me too now: ping at 18ms and throughput a shade under 11meg.

mines been off since i spoke to o2 earlier, they had to reconfigure the port to get me back online.. apparently the "issue in the area" should be fixed by 7pm.. im in huddersfield
