Re: can you check my stats please
That's pretty much as good as it gets as you almost on the default SN margin. I think we mentioned it before but you do have an issue with your wiring/connection as you line attentuation suggests you should get more. I can't remember if you said you had a test socket, if so please connect your router to this and repost your stats.
One thing I have noticed is that you're on ADSL2 not ADSL2+, I'm not sure why that is though. |

How do you know that as my router page says i am connected to adsl+
Broadband Connection O2_ADSL: Disconnected O2_ADSL2plus: Connected stats from test socket identical as usine adsl filtered faceplate What speed shud i be getting then according to line attenuation and why am i not getting it? Also my line and connection has been throughly checked by bt engineer along with my internal wiring and its perfect Last edited by lynnwood; 06-11-09 at 12:14 PM.. |

Re: can you check my stats please
Quote:
G.992.5 = ADSL2+ Your connection is not perfect because under normal conditions a line attentuation of 43 would equate to around 7-8mbps. Please try posting from your test socket with just the router connected via its supplied ADSL cable and microfilter only, make sure nothing else, no other cables/adapters etc are involved. |

Re: can you check my stats please
Hi
I take on board your comments and have spoken to 02 tier two team and i explained what you have just said and he assured me i am adsl2+ anyway they reduced my margin and now get faster speeds so just going to leave it at that here are my new stats thanks for your advise DSL Connection Link Information Uptime: 0 days, 2:09:39 DSL Type: G.992.3 annex A Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,287 / 6,740 Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0.00 / 0.00 Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.0 / 19.0 Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 27.0 / 43.0 SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 3.5 / 3.5 Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / BDCM Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 22 / 0 Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 2 / 0 Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0 Loss of Link (Remote): 0 Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 2 / 0 FEC Errors (Up/Down): 159 / 31,096 CRC Errors (Up/Down): 159 / 14 HEC Errors (Up/Down): 74 / 12 |

Re: can you check my stats please
O2 are incorrect, you are clearly on ADSL2 but in the end it doesn't matter because ADSL2+ is only relevant if your shooting for speeds in excess of 20mb, so ADSL2 will do you fine.
One thing to point out though is by reducing your target noise margin you are now more at risk of suffering disconnections during the evening, best keep an eye on it over the next few days. |
