Hi folks,
Does anyone know if they have started doing this on http? This evening I was getting 1000kBps+ on a secure usenet connection. I've started downloading a file from a site which I would hit that sort of speed and it's down as low as 8.6kBps sometimes. Or are they just having problems with traffic to some sites? This happening on numerous sites. I'm not using an O2 router, the one I'm using should be better. The odd thing is the Guardian speed checker shows 8Mbps download speed which is what I'd expect? Any thoughts? Cheers, Paul. |

Re: Have O2 started throttling?
The internet is just a incredibly huge set of servers all over the world connected together - only needs one part you're using to be overloaded for your connection to suffer.
No, O2 isn't throttling its LLU products. |

Re: Have O2 started throttling?
Nope, it's odd it seems to be the router. Swapped over to the O2 router which refused to connect at all then back and now all is good!

Re: Have O2 started throttling?
Actually an update to this. The D-Link connection seems to drop right down after a while and only comes back after a reboot. Also have wireless problems with it.
Going to talk to D-Link and see if I can resolve as neither issue appears with the standard O2 Router II box. |
