Both methods as in password = O2Br0ad64nd or serial no (all uppercase btw)?

Re: SuperUser not working
Ok now, I'm in thanks to Ged.
I had been copying and pasting the O2Br....... etc one. When I typed it in manually it worked fine ![]() |

Re: SuperUser not working
Yeah, quite often when you highlight and copy you can pick up an extra space at the end of the word which will throw out the password.

Re: SuperUser not working
I know this thread is slightly 'old' but have just found out myself that SuperUser won't take any of the P/W's, copied & pasted OR manual, so have used the routers S/N again and worked.
Wonder if O2's box P/W settings have been changed as the S/N does both-Admin and SU too. |

Re: SuperUser not working
thanks Puretoon, despite this'old' thread your post has saved my sanity.
I had some support on the phone with O2 about 4 or 5 months ago following BT line trouble, when they were very keen to have me reset the router. I declined at the time. Coincidently I've had many problems recently accessing my WD NAS drive (WDH1NC10000 white light) from one laptop only, an IBM T42 running XP Pro. Error 53, network path not found, was typical using "net view" from command prompt. Other laptops running XP Home, and even 98SE, had no such problems. Seemed to be a router DNS resolution issue. So I reset the O2 box. After some time, and thanks to your post I found that yes indeed, the passwords for both Admin and SU are now the router S/N. Clearly O2 had updated the firmware without telling me, or maybe this just happens all the time in background ? I have confirmed the F/W is a much later version. Oh; and now I can access the NAS, although I'm not sure the solution is complete, being suspicious that XP Pro has more tricks up its sleeve. Sorry about the long post, but hope it helps someone. |
