Is Access Traffic Shaping now 24/7
As Title
BT Speed test shows Download speed achieved during the test was - 5259 Kbps For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps. Additional Information: Your DSL Connection Rate :8128 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM) IP Profile for your line is - 7150 Kbps Usenet is running at Circa 750 Kbps ![]() So JUST above acceptable range but I thought it was supposed to be 8pm to 11pm ish Http Download in circa 5000 Kbps as per BT test This seems to be 24/7 not just when network is busy as the 5000+ Kbps download would suggest the network is NOT congested. As I write this Usenet is now running at < 500 Kbps Anyone else getting similar or is it just me ? BillyUK O2 Access Last edited by BillyUK; 24-12-09 at 12:38 PM.. |

Re: Is Access Traffic Shaping now 24/7
It's Christmas - all the kids are home and lots of people have started their Christmas break so aren't working. The weather is terrible.
I'd have thought that would put a massive strain on the whole web not just O2's available Access bandwidth. |

Re: Is Access Traffic Shaping now 24/7
But normal downloads are achieving 5000+ Kbps
If usenet is throttled because the network is congested I can understand. But it APPEARS to now be throttled 24/7 even when the network is quiet Maybe it's just me? ![]() |

Re: Is Access Traffic Shaping now 24/7
I would have thought that if usenet is overloaded at their end, and given that it is Xmas it wil be used worldwide 24/7
Don't forget Xbox live 2 years ago was crippled for 2 weeks over Xmas until people went back to work. I wuld say until the 4th Jan there will be no off peak times. |
