Going to subscribe..
Hi...
I'm trying to convince my parents to subscribe to 02 broadband, the £10 a month service. I'm just wondering do you always need a PC connected to the Wireless Router II to use it wirelessly with all the other PC's. Have a laptop we can connect to the router to set up all the security but once it's been set up can we just connect all the other PC's with the WEP key? Thanks in advance. Alistair |

Re: Going to subscribe..
No, you don't need to keep a PC wired to the router.
It should be completely plug and play i.e. connect the router to the phone line then enter the security key into the laptop and it should connect fine - the set up disk O2 provide isn't needed unless you want the antivirus on it. If you do get problems connecting then as you say, a wired connection may be needed temporarily to sort it out. One thing though, wired is likely to give you better connection speeds. Wireless can be very hit and miss depending on how many walls it has to go through, other wireless sources in the area etc. |

Re: Going to subscribe..
Just wondering as well.. Will I need to buy a Broadband Filter to use the phone at the same time or does it come in the welcome package?
Thanks for the reply.. Helped lots and just signed up.. |

Re: Going to subscribe..
You get two or three filters with the router plus a short ethernet cable.
Hope all goes well with your connection ![]() Last edited by Saturday; 07-02-10 at 03:44 PM.. |
