YAY, just moved house, got line in and went live today after lots of messing about! Right, been with Virgin 50mb at last house so heres the problem, I had my external ip at the end of the modem with VM that went right into server, that was my router etc and all pc's are still setup this way, I have managed to get it running with O2 box now, is there anyway at all to kill the router bit in the server and for it to work as the VM modem did or at least to be able to pop on a DMZ to the server?? (cant see it mentioned anywhere in the settings)

Well the last bit didn't work, what i really wanted to do was disable the "router" part of the box and use it as a modem, dug around for the last few hours and found this Petes Bridge Template - BE Usergroup Technotes This enables port 1 to have the external ip address and 2-4 and wireless can still access the box functions
tested and all working, 2008 server now doing all the work ![]() |
