Stats Check
Finally moved into my house after have an O2 BB connection sat unused at all for the last 3 months.
How do my stats look - Uptime: 0 days, 10:44:25 DSL Type: G.992.5 Annex M US 56 Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,209 / 4,699 Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [MB/GB]: 123.15 / 3.37 Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 11.5 / 17.5 Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 27.0 / 48.0 SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 6.0 / 10.0 Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / BDCM Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0 Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 3 / 0 Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0 Loss of Link (Remote): 0 Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 10 / 0 FEC Errors (Up/Down): 152 / 4,858 CRC Errors (Up/Down): 152 / 14 HEC Errors (Up/Down): 189 / 10 (Connected at the master socket via a ADSL Nation Faceplate). |

Re: Stats Check
A shade low in downstream sync speed, mostly down to the high noise margin of 10db.
O2 use a default noise margin of ~6db so either your line has a large noise swing through the day (and you last synced the router at a noisy time and took the stats at a quiet time) or there's a bit of a glitch. If you reboot the router at a usually quiet time such as the morning, you should see the noise margin drop to around 6db and an increase in sync speed up to around 6mb which is about right for your attenuation. However, if as mentioned above, you have a big noise swing in the day then you may find your noise margin drops too low at noisy times of day. So, if you're happy with the connection then leave it alone. If you'd like more speed then reboot the router in the morning but keep an eye on the noise margin to see if it drops too low in the evenings. |

Re: Stats Check
Well I downgraded my package level today as I hit the 6 month requirement, and as I was paying for Pro and was not getting anywhere near 20Mb didn't really warrant spending the extra £10pm.
Uptime: 0 days, 0:07:38 DSL Type: G.992.3 annex A Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,204 / 7,602 Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.0 / 18.5 Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 26.5 / 43.0 SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 6.5 / 6.0 Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / BDCM Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0 Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 0 / 0 Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0 Loss of Link (Remote): 0 Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 0 / 0 FEC Errors (Up/Down): 6 / 768 CRC Errors (Up/Down): 6 / 3 HEC Errors (Up/Down): 7 / 2 I've noticed I am changed from G.992.5 to G.992.3 - but given that sync increase I assume its more suitable for my line.
