Inactive BT line
Hi guys,
im moving house later this year and noticed my new house has an inactive BT line. To get O2 home phone and broadband together do I need BT to activate the line, which i imagine would result in a 18 month contract with them, or can O2 just take control of it? Thanks for the help. |

Re: Inactive BT line
O2 now offer a Home Phone (land line) service but I'm not sure whether it's national yet or whether they can take on an inactive line. Easiest thing would be to call them and see what your options are.

Re: Inactive BT line
Hi Hammy,
Good to hear that you’re interested in O2 home phone. You’re right that you’ll require an active BT line to get O2 home phone and broadband at your new property. You’ll have to check with BT about their proposition in terms of contracts or one off charge. Abhishek |

Re: Inactive BT line
Hammy,
Just to let you know, I might have a way for you to get away with a BT contract/ high fees. Could you please tell me your current contract status with BT in regards to your BT landline number? Abhishek |

Re: Inactive BT line
Hi Hammy,
I was asking the status of your current BT line contract at your existing house. Also when are you going move house? Abhishek |

Re: Inactive BT line
Ohh!! Okay, I thought you were an O2 broadband customer already as your profile stated ‘Broadband ISP: O2 Home Broadband, Broadband Package: O2 Premium, Router: O2 Wireless Box II.’ It won’t apply in your case then as I was going to suggest migration.
Unfortunately O2 can only provide home phone service to an active and working BT line at the moment, so you’ll have to get the BT line activated. O2 is currently looking for solutions for de-activated BT lines as well but this can take some time, its early days to comment when this will be done. However it’s on our radar! Abhishek |

Re: Inactive BT line
thanks for the help abhishek.
I am an O2 broadband customer already but thats at my home. As a student I rent another house and would love to have O2 broadband there as well. Virgin really does suck. hopefully O2 can come up with a solution to deactivated bt lines before september. again thanks for the help. |
