netgear DG834PN in need of help
Hi every one
I could do with some help please, I have spent time reading many threads and I’m still not sure which one applies to my problem as they seem to be for other 02 packages. Basically I have just joined 02 broadband on the access package as this is all that is available in my area. For several reasons I need to connect my old router (Netgear range master DG834PN) I have done all the setting changes given to me from 02 and uploaded the latest update for the netgear router (DG834PN-V1 03.39) Is there a step by step sheet/list with all the setting needed to be made, need a idiot proof doc as i have read that you also have to wait for the router to connect 30 mins+ it would be a shame to be waiting only to find I have missed one small change needed. ? can anyone help ? do i really need to wait for this to activate ? what is spoofing the mac and do i need to do this Thanks in advance for any help given |

How to use your own router with O2 Broadband Only if you have previously connected more than one other router would the initial delay in connection occur (and I doubt Home Access is affected by this anyway). You don't need to spoof a MAC address. Last edited by Saturday; 13-06-10 at 12:07 PM.. |

Re: netgear DG834PN in need of help
Check your username/password - they're probably case sensitive, plus I for 1, O for 0 etc. If still not OK then give O2 a call and check you have the right username/password set up.
Is your O2 router connecting OK? Other than that I'm not sure what else to suggest. |

Re: netgear DG834PN in need of help
No, just one ADSL router can be connected to a phone line.
It may however be possible to connect the O2 router to the phone line and the Netgear to the O2 router i.e. use the O2 router's ADSL "modem" and the Netgear's router function. Depends whether this functionality is available with the O2 router. Seem to remember it is but I don't use one myself so can't check. Edit: This may help, or this.
