Hi all,
I’ve just signed up to O2, and they've sent me a Wireless Box IV (TG587nv2, software 8.4.2.R). I already have an ADSL2+ modem and would like to use the O2 Wireless Box as simply a wireless hub. I have managed to telnet into the box as SuperUser, but it's all pretty unfamiliar, and I’m not quite sure how to start. What I want to do is: * Make it stop attempting to connect to ADSL * Put it in 'bridge' mode. * Switch off DHCP, so that DHCP requests are served from my server on the LAN * Allow administration over the LAN ports as well as over the WLAN. Have tried just plugging it into a LAN switch, but that seems to screw up LAN traffic. (Don’t think it’s DHCP-related. It looks like it might be messing with ARP. Or something. Maybe?) Any help, or pointers to documentation on the device, would be very welcome. Thanks, –Andrew |
