Change service type via telnet

New here, so "hi" all.

Ok, here is my problem. I'll give the background first, as without it someone will ask what appears to be an obvious question...

We had O2 adls2+ with a static IP address. We actually use a Netgear DG834 in order to interoperate with some netgear APs using WDS, and physically use a bigger antenna.

About 3 weeks ago we had a fault, so O2 shipped a new router (box IV), configured by default for a static IP service.

Last week the 1yr contract ended, O2 contacted us to renew. The product we were on no longer exists, so we choose the "middle" package; unlimited but with a dynamic IP address. We also took the opportunity to LLU away from BT... all changes went ahead, reconfigured the Netgear to pickup a dynamic IP on the WAN, and all was well.

Knowing we get better throughout with an O2 box, we thought we would try swapping them out, so configured the O2 box as closely as possible as the Netgear (firewall and custom service types... wireless keys, accounts etc). I try to swap out this am.. no joy.

The router is configured to use a 'hardcoded' IP address (O2 Service type: Static IP). If you try to use the web interface, there is no option to change it. If you use the config wizard, you cannot change the service type to "dynamic", it sits there asking for the static settings O2 sent.

So that leaves telnet.
Abbreviated interface list shows
Name - Type - Ul Interfaces
atm_nat - physical - RtEthoA
RtEthoA - eth - Static_IP
Static_IP - *ip

So, I'm working on the theory that an interface called "Dynamic_IP" (?) needs to be created, and RtEthoA mapped to it.

How? What steps and commands?

Anyone any idea? O2 first line tried to help this am, but frankly the lad was out of his depth (but kudos for trying and taking ownership of the problem). A supervisor admitted this is way beyond his knowledge, but cannot pass this onto second line as there is 1st haven't hard -reset the box (I dont want them too, it means an hour of retyping and checking configs)

Can anyone here help?
