Should I go for static IP
I used to be on £7.50 unlimited package. And, I synched at 3.9/10xx with Netgear DG834G. Downloading files - speed was consistent.
Then I wanted to take on Home Phone and was put on 'The Works' package for BB. Now, with Router Box IV, I synch at 3.2/9xx and the speed when downloading files is very erratic and when it is slow it is very slow. I am told that using Static IP will stabilise things. I just want to know if it is worth the hassle. Or would I be opening doors to hackers. |

Re: Should I go for static IP
To be honest I'd be amazed if a static IP would make things more stable.
You only really need one if you host websites/email etc. of your own.

Re: Should I go for static IP
Static won't make a difference.
