G.DMT is also known as G.992.1, ADSL, or less accurately ADSL1.

ADSL2 (G.992.3) is not the same as ADSL2+ (G.992.5).

With a noisy line, lowering the noise margin to increase your sync is just plain stupid. I'd be surprised if that doesn't give you connection problems.

If I were you I'd call again and get through to an agent who has a better appreciation of the issues. Get back on a 6db profile and maybe a different ADSL mode if that helps things.

BUT, changing ADSL mode is likely to give only a little or possibly no improvement. The key issue you have is line noise. That's not something that O2 can help you with.

Yes you are. I wonder what changed?

As expected, ADSL2+ hasn't improved your sync. There's a small chance that G.DMT would - but not by much.

That's all you're going to get with your current line condition.

hey

it seems when my router gets rebooted it changes the adsl modes but today i received a email from o2 saying im on the correct package since o2 went live on the 15th jan for me so a three week dlm but the good news is im now syncing at higher speed of 6 mb solid never got this with sky so far so good!

Hmm - certainly shouldn't do that

If you can be bothered, there's a small chance that reflashing the router firmware might resolve that.
