Re: Connected tomorrow will stats change??

On O2 you'll be on ADSL2+ rather than the G.DMT shown in those stats.

Yes, your attenuation would suggest your line may support 14+meg but that will depend on how noisy your line is.

The sync shown isn't the maximum for G.DMT (but it is pretty good) so I think you are likely to find you won't get the maximum possible for your attenuation on ADSL2+.

I'd be extremely surprised though if you only got the 5meg predicted. My guess would be something closer to 14meg. But it is almost impossible to predict with any accuracy. You'll have to wait and see I'm afraid.

Re: Connected tomorrow will stats change??

There is possibly a noisy line as the noise ratio is only 7.5, I would have expected it to be a lot higher with that attenuation and only on GDMT.

May be time to check your internal wiring.

Re: Connected tomorrow will stats change??

Yeah my new build had a very noisy line too - check the bell wire isn't connected (assuming you have extensions put in by the builder).

Re: Connected tomorrow will stats change??

Trouble is that new builds may have the wiring done on the cheap to make more money for the builder.

If you have a noise problem on the line while speaking to somebody BT are obliged to sort it out, although when reporting it on no account mention broadband just say that you can hardly hear somebody on the phone.

That's pretty much what I thought - didn't think you'd get the 14 as it looked like there is some noise on your line but was confident you'd get much more than the 5meg

Don't forget though that Standard is only up to 8meg so O2 will be contacting you soon to ask if you want to go on Premium or whether you'd rather stay on Standard and get capped to 8meg.

Re: Connected tomorrow will stats change??

If I recall correctly, flashing the Sagem to generic firmware is fairly tricky but I could be wrong.
