Re: How to use your own router with O2 Broadband
Thanks,
I've only tried the one router, my o2 router is still at work as I've been off so I haven't tried it yet. The router syncs fine, gets connected at 13000 and 1200 approx but the router doesn't seem to be able to get an IP address etc. I have a username and password from o2, should I need these? |

Re: How to use your own router with O2 Broadband
No - if you follow the guide then you only need a username and password for the Connect equivalent product which is called O2 Home Access. Which begs the question - why have you got a username and password as there's no such thing for the LLU products?
Are you sure you're on Pro? |

Certain I'm on Pro.
I initially phoned up and aked for the usernameand password (before finding this site) as I assumed I would need one, o2 gave me it. Maybe I need to find a setting where here is no option to add a username and password? |

Re: How to use your own router with O2 Broadband
I am currently on O2's Access package,
I have recently flashed my Sky Router DG834G v3, and would like to use this to connect to my broadband. I have read the instructions in the first thread. The only issue I have is my username and password. From the current Router I have my username as it is displayed under PPP settings, the password is however starred out, I don't ever recall Sky emailing me these details as they came preconfigured with the router. Is there any way I can get the password without calling them up? If I do call them up, won't they get a bit suspicious and ask why I want them? ![]() |

Re: How to use your own router with O2 Broadband
I think you're getting confused - or maybe I am?
![]() To use your own router with O2 Home Access you need your O2 ADSL username and password. Sky won't ever have emailed them to you as they are applicable to O2 and nothing to do with Sky. Call O2 and ask for them. They have no problem with you using your own router. |

Re: How to use your own router with O2 Broadband
Ah man what an idiot i am
![]() It was originally a sky router I have emailed O2 asking for the details, i just need the password by the looks of it, as the O2 wireless box shows the username when I logged in as a "SuperUser"Last edited by Pdog; 13-09-09 at 06:52 PM.. |

Re: How to use your own router with O2 Broadband
Don't worry - it's easy to get confused with the technology
![]() The superuser login is to get access to the router admin pages. What O2 will send you are the ADSL username and password that need to get entered into the appropriate fields in the router admin pages. All described in the tutorial. If you get problems, post back and I'll try and help. |

Quote:
I should be good to go once I receive the password, I believe O2 are busier than normal as the auto reply stated it could take up to 48Hours to receive a response. Bit frustrating the password is starred out! but the username isn't. |

Re: How to use your own router with O2 Broadband
If you want it earlier then give them a call. It's an 0800 number and usually only a short wait to get through.
