O2 mobile service poll

Hi everyone
I have been a loyal O2 customer re mobile phone for many years and also been on O2 broadband for last couple of years. lately I have noted the reception of my O2 mobile is getting poor, I dont seem to be getting good signal in areas where I used to.

So I decided to do a sample test, I got hold of a T-mobile and an Orange PAYG sims and put in couple of spare handset. to my surprise both were getting better signal strengths than O2. Its bad to the extent that sometime when I am in the office working, have no signal at all on O2 mobile and this is getting me frustrated

Just wanted to seek opinion from other members what their experience is lately, my contract is coming to its end so need to decide if O2 is still the way to go or not?

Re: O2 mobile service poll

Hi Jemmy,

Have you tried putting the O2 sim in one of the other phones (provided that they're unlocked)? It may be your phone that's the problem.

Regards,

Felix

Re: O2 mobile service poll

If you're finding that it is just in certain areas then it's probably the network. If it is everywhere then as FelixTCat says, it's probably the phone.

GSM phones can go "out of tune" and need recalibrating - either over time or sometimes following unlocking or flashing. If it is the phone then it may be worth doing a full reset to factory defaults. Probably won't help but worth a try. If you do, then back up everything in the phone as you'll lose it.

Re: O2 mobile service poll

O2 sim is on the iphone, I did try it in a windows mobile phone which was similar in terms of signal. The signal issue just makes the iphone a swanky brick in my hand with no use.
I hope O2 sort this soon
