Email on a Motorola V3i
I've had the phone for a long time now, but recently decided to set it up for email. I don't just want to use O2's email, but also to use my usual email server GMX.
However, I've been a total failure in setting it up. I also cannot do any internet browsing (for Webmail sites). Can anyone help with the settings I need to access the internet and email through O2, please? Thanks, Felix |

Re: Email on a Motorola V3i
I found the answer to this myself. It applies to any PAYG phone on O2 for email, though other phones may use slightly different terminology. I haven't been able to access the web for browsing yet - that will be my next task.
The required settings are: ISP SETTINGS- Connection Type: GPRS APN address: payandgo.o2.co.uk Username : payandgo Password: password DNS IP: 0.0.0.0 (193.113.200.200 reported to work) ACCOUNT SETTINGS- Account Name: O2 Email Status: Active Name: (Your name) User ID: (Your O2 email address, eg. john.smith@o2.co.uk) Password: (Your O2 email password) Return address Your O2 email address)Email provider: Custom Protocol: POP3 Sending host: smtp.o2.co.uk Sending port: 25 Receiving host: mail.o2.co.uk Receiving port: 110 Cleanup: None Save on server: Yes Security: (Select no to SSL for sending and SSL for receiving) |
