Re: Run a speed test and post your results here

speed.io seems to give the best tests but the upload is still fairly low, but I am getting a good stable connection for £7.34 so I am happy.

Re: Run a speed test and post your results here

for the 1st 4-15 days o2 will be doing line tests to make sure your line is ok for the package it's on and so your download may wander about.

Although today isn't a great day for pings yours is already half that of what you used to get on Sky and your upload is very good, although upload tests can be quite inaccurate.

Hopefully what you should see is a more stable connection, which I have in the 6 months since I moved.

Re: Run a speed test and post your results here

O2's normal practice is to give you an unlimited connection at first to see how it performs. Then once they've finished the line testing (up to 10 days) you'll get an email telling you that testing has finished and you're on the right package (or not).

If your sync speed is a lot higher than the package you bought then they'll ask you if you want to upgrade. If not then they'll cap you to your package.

Re: Run a speed test and post your results here

Noticed my internet was running slow so did a speed test:

Results from speed.io - Internet DSL Speedtest
(Copied on 2009-03-08 21:21:40)
Download: 626 Kbit/s
Upload : 869 kbit/s
Connects : 945 conn/min
Ping: 89 ms

Not sure whether to take O2 up on the 30 money back guarantee, my speed never fell this low on Sky and will make online gaming impossible.

I think I'll leave it another week and see how it goes.

EDIT: Seems there is a problem with the network (https://www.bethere.co.uk/networkSta...eenForForum.do) I'll let them off for now then lol.
