Re: Run a speed test and post your results here

Here's mine to start things off:

Connected for a couple of months so well out of DLM
O2 Premium
Wired
Router sync at time of test was 13576kbps down and 1287kbps up

O2user 10480 kbps down/1029 kbps up
Be 10801 kbps down
Giganews 6612 kbps down not good - must be congested

Also, speed.io 11711 kbps down/1105kbps up and Namesco 12659 kbps down/701 kbps up.

So all in all looking good apart from giganews which struggles at this time of day and Namesco's download which often seems a little generous and upload which often reports low for me.

Hi All. First post.

While I'd like to believe speed.io I think it may be being a tad optimistic.

Notalot of activity in here, is there?

I'm getting about 10.3Mb download and 1.1Mb upload on O2 Premium, regardless of which test site I use. I've been on O2 for 2 days. They predicted 14Mb download speed. Maybe I need to re-tweak my PC for ADSL2?

Actually, I'm finding it very useful already so I'll spread the word to other O2 users I know.

Anybody know of any problems that could affect upload?

In my experience most speedtesters struggle to record the upload speeds consistently. I'd try several speedtesters to see if the problem persists. Include speed.io as that one is usually OK (but not always).

Edit: I've just tried the Skyuser speedtester and there definitely seems to be a problem with it as I'm only getting 4meg/600kbps. Other speedtesters are showing 11meg/1.1meg
