Latency Issues
Well it looks like O2/Be have now cleared their latency issues on their status page, and after many weeks it has a green light.
Although I have seen my throughput speed at around 13500 (sync 14750), I have had latency problems with certain sites including my own where I know there is no issue. It would be interested to know if anyone else has had spasmodic delays but maintained good speed. Of course there are so many things that cause latency and contention but when its detected on regular sites, then perhaps some of it can be contributed to the network. And I mean sites that do not resolve though they are there and trying several times gets them ![]() Mike |

Re: Latency Issues
That would be a DNS issue not a network latency issue.

Re: Latency Issues
I was actually using open dns, connecting to an established site, so maybe maybe not..

Re: Latency Issues
Can't see network latency causing the symptoms you describe. Doubt it can be a network routing issue either. Good though OpenDNS is, it's not 100% reliable.
Who knows though? Just one of those mysteries. Last edited by Saturday; 23-03-09 at 07:42 PM.. |
